N3 crash near Vosloorus leaves two seriously injured

Two people were seriously injured on Sunday morning when a Renault Clio and a Toyota Avanza collided on the N3 near Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni. Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) spokesperson Millicent Kekana said the vehicles were travelling southbound just before the Barry Marais off-ramp when they crashed, lost control and rolled onto the northbound carriageway.

The seriously injured casualties were taken to Thelle Mogoerwane Hospital; other occupants sustained lesser injuries. Both northbound lanes were affected, with motorists guided onto the shoulder past the scene.

EMPD's freeway unit and City of Ekurhuleni disaster and emergency management services managed the site. Drivers were urged to slow down, stay alert and watch for pedestrians near the freeway.
